Larkin Sharpe

Larkin Sharpe has been the Director of Bands at Hialeah High School since 2017. In his time at HHS, the Marching Band & Color Guard has claimed a Finalist position at the FMBC State Championship in Classes 1A and 2A for three consecutive years. The Wind Orchestra and Concert Jazz Band have received Superior ratings consistently. His musical career began in his upbringing in Broward County. He attended Walter C. Young Middle School under the direction of Kimberly Annis and Charles W. Flanagan High School under the direction Steve Rivero.

Mr. Sharpe received his Bachelor's of Music Education from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. Here, he served in ensembles like the University Symphonic Band, Saxophone Quartet, and Pep Band. He also served as a collegiate member of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity, Xi Nu Chapter.

Some of Mr. Sharpe's other experiences include performing in the JINSHA Summer Music Festival in Chengdu, China; serving as a Drum Major with the Carolina Crown Drum & Bugle Corps for two years, receiving a silver and gold medal at the DCI World Championships; and was a participating conductor in the Maestros Summer Conducting Symposium led by Steve Rivero and Dr. Robert Carnochan.
